Surviving a critical illness is a very positive outcome but it can often lead to unexpected and very significant expenses that may not be covered by your regular health insurance benefits.
- Built for you
In the event of a critical illness, we want you to have the financial freedom and control you need in order to focus on your recovery.
With the Lawyers Financial Critical Illness Insurance plan, if you are diagnosed with a covered condition or early intervention condition, you will receive a lump-sum benefit payment, tax-free.
This can allow you to have more choice about where and how you want to seek treatment and pay for out-of-pocket expenses, make modifications to your home, and help keep your long-term financial priorities on track.
- Your Questions Answered
Critical Illness Insurance is a rider that can easily be added to your CBIA/Lawyers Financial Term Life Insurance policy.
Here are some of the questions we get from Lawyers when they are considering Critical Illness Insurance.
Will I receive my benefit right away?
In many cases, yes, you may be eligible for a benefit payment as of the date of diagnosis. There are some covered conditions for which you will be eligible to make a claim following the survival of your diagnosis.
What if I am diagnosed with an illness but it doesn’t affect my income?
Unlike Disability Insurance, a Critical Illness benefit is not tied to your income, only to your health. You can receive your benefit while you are working.
Do I have to submit my medical receipts or use the benefit to pay for medical expenses?
Absolutely not. The full lump-sum benefit will be paid if your illness qualifies under the contractual definitions. How you use the money is entirely up to you. You can pay medical bills, pay off your mortgage, give your children a leg up or spend some downtime with loved ones while you get your life back in order.
A Lawyers Financial Advisor can answer your questions and design a plan that meets your needs.
